(A20) Beginners Series 1: Drawing & Sketching
Ages 13 & up
Do you want to start to draw and know what materials to use or just refresh your basic skills again. Learn right brain techniques to approach a subject with Blind and Modified contours then acquire knowledge on grids and shape relationships, perspective, and compositions using pencils, black markers, and water-soluble colored pencils.

Continue developing and expanding your drawing techniques from skill in series 1. Develop form and value, learn tips about sketching your travels, and keeping a journal.

(A23) Plein aire Pastels
Ages 14 & up
This is French for “Go outside!!” In this class we’ll meet at local sites to really look at the way color and light behave in the open air. We’ll try for one small painting per session; the first session will start with a demonstration. (Location will be announced). All experience levels welcome!

Materials: An assortment of hard (NuPastels) and soft (Windsor Newton, Rembrandt,etc.) pastels is best. Canson MiTientes paper or one of the sanded papers made for pastel will be fine. 9”x12” is a good size.

(A33) Beginning Watercolor Pencils
Ages 13 & up
Begin with layering colors & using lines to create tones. Also explore wet on wet and wet and dry watercolor pencil techniques. A variety of subject matter will be explored.
