(CF18) Drawing and Painting Adventures
Ages 6-11
If you enjoy sketching and using watercolor and other painting media, this is the class for you! Students will learn drawing techniques that will be used to improve their painting skills. Students will also study color mixing and “enplunaire” painting.

(CF19) Beginning Cartooning
Ages 10 and Up
Those who love cartooning and comics can come and learn basic drawing skills while working on projects of their own choosing. Learn step-by-step techniques of storytelling with pictures, dialogue, and lettering and inking.

(CF20) Intermediate Cartooning
Ages 10 and Up
This course is designed for cartooning students who have taken Beginning Cartooning and want to progress. Class reviews the basics and adds depth to the discussions and techniques with group projects and exercises designed to make the budding cartoonist think outside the box.

Ages 5-9
In this exciting class, students will create drawings, a paper mache project, 2 air-dry clay projects, and 3 acrylic paintings. Projects will have a Fall theme.

Ages 6-12
Come join the wonderful world of Webkinz. Bring your favorite animal to class. Students will use them as inspiration for various projects, which include an acrylic painting, a painted clay sculpture, a colored pencil drawing with google eyes and more.

(CF23) Paper Mache Masks
Ages 7-11
Make your own paper mache mask! Masks are fun to make and wear, but are also important symbols of culture and history. Students will learn about the significance of masks throughout history and in various cultures as they design and then create their own mask. Students will use paper mache, paint, feathers, glitter and more to create a mask that represents who they are!

(CF24) Fun With Clay
Ages 6-12
This is a great intro course offering the techniques of hand building with clay for younger pupils. Students engage their imaginations to create various projects by coil building, slab building, and sculpting in clay, with the final class focusing on glazing. Demonstrations and individual instruction are given.

(CF25) Recycled Art
Ages 7-10
Students will have fun learning about mosaic techniques as they create a mosaic using recycled cardboard, dried beans and peas. Projects include gargoyles made from coffee trays and sand, a 3-D animal mask made from paper mache, water bottle people from yarn, beads, fabric and buttons, and a penguin using a juice bottle and paper.

(CF27) World Art
Ages 6-11
Come see, taste and smell the artwork of different cultures as students go on a journey with food, music and painting – all at the NHAC. Students will go to such places as Italy, Ireland, Mexico and Africa without leaving the classroom. As they paint, they will listen to the country’s music and have a light snack from that country’s culture. Please tell us of any food allergies; and parental permission is required in order to taste the food.

(CF28) Drawing, Painting and Sculpture
Ages 6-11
In this fun class, students will learn the basics of drawing, painting and sculpture. Students will draw sketches in their sketchbooks, create 2 paintings, and use air-dry clay to create wonderful sculptures.

This is a fun class, perfect for children who love to paint. Each session, we will create an acrylic painting with autumn subjects, like animals and insects.

(CFW30) Fruit Salad on Canvas Workshop
Ages 6-10
"Do paints only come from a tube? Of course not!” In this day and age our children have every convenience. In this class, they will learn how color originally comes from nature and not from a bottle. They will experience how to get color from foods like blueberries and strawberries. Then they will paint an 8” x 10” portrait on canvas with their natural medium. Class is one session.

(CFW31) Sea Monkeys Workshop
Ages 10-12
Have some fun making sea monkeys. Sea monkeys are an updated twist on the traditional sock monkey that everyone knows and loves. Students will bring in socks to create these fun and mythical creatures. Be prepared to stuff and sew your new best friend.
