A33 / Pottery: Any Way You Like It

(Ages 11 & up)

Throw a pot on the wheel or use your imagination and hand build a creation and make your own tiles. Glazing techniques offered including Stoneware & exciting Raku!

Learn the fundamentals of throwing clay through hand-building and wheel throwing. Let your creativity loose, there is no end to what you can create in this beginning pottery class!

A37 / Pottery: Pit Fire!

(Ages 16 & up)

Create a variety of forms using the wheel and/or hand-building then fire your work in the unique and exciting blaze of a pit firing! Add color to your pots with various stains, copper wire, wood chips, toothpaste and cat food! Projects may include bowls, vases, sculptures and plates. Pit firing is one of the oldest forms of firing and creates some amazing effects! All levels of experience are welcome!

(Ages 14 & up)

Come make ceramics pieces designed and decorated specifically for serving or eating your favorite foods or recipes! Make serving platters, plates, bowls, cups and other dishes by throwing on the pottery wheels or hand-building with slabs and hump moulds. All levels of experience are welcome.

A39 / Teen Ceramics Studio

(Ages 13-19)

Learn how to make ceramic works of art on the wheels or hand building while getting to know other local teen artists. Sign up with friends or make news ones when you come! Each class will begin with the introduction of a current, famous ceramic artist and their work as well as a brief introduction of a past style of ceramics from another culture. Use this as inspiration as you make bowls, plates, vases, teapots, sculptures or whatever else you would like! No matter what your experience, come and enhance your skills! Pizza and drinks can be purchased halfway through the class if desired.

A40 / Guardian Sculptures

(Ages 14 & up)

Come and learn the method and craft of additive and reductive sculpting by creating a three-dimensional angle, gargoyle, animal or other guardian figure out of clay or plaster. For centuries guardian sculptures have adorned temples, houses, churches and other buildings. They are as beautiful as they are distinct.

Bring work already in progress or start a new landscape, still life, portrait or anything else you may choose while getting to know other local teen artists! Sign up with friends or make news ones when you come! Each class will begin with the introduction of a current, famous artist and their work. Use this as inspiration as you bring your choice of pencils, colored pencils, acrylic paints, oil paints, pen and ink, or pastels to learn new techniques and improve your skills! A47 / Figure Drawing

(Ages 16 & up)

Whether you "cant even draw a stick figure" or youre an experienced artist, this figure drawing class will provide you with the opportunity to practice drawing people with guided instruction. Learn new techniques using graphite pencils, charcoal, sharpie markers and conte crayons as you draw from live, non-nude models emulating poses from famous works of art.

Enjoy dabbling in the creative processes - well try our hands at abstract and found art, find what is FUN in perspective, balance and color and wander through clay sculpting and jewelry. Then well play with a bit of origami, cartoons and animation, and even make our own short videos. Music and dancing during class is optional!

Making fine dessert wines is an art; enjoying them is more of one. This wine tasting class explores many facets of the dessert wine including the famous wine regions, methods in creating the wines, and how to enjoy drinking them guilt-free. Let John Eld show you how these wines highlight the sweetness of summer and how delectable they truly are! Wines will be paired with an array of delicious desserts.
