Judith Berge
Vision
"I started out with a music education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and then went to West Virginia University where I earned a Masters of Music in composition. When I taught music lessons in W.V. I also worked in art supplies. Art is a way of life, seeing the shapes, the colors and the rhythms the Creator put around us, and enjoying them. Music and painting both establish gestures, structures, and textures.
I have studied at the North Hills Art Center, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Carnegie Institute, Sweetwater Center for the Arts, and CCAC. I have won several awards including The Pony Express Award for depicting the effects of abuse. At present I have no studio, but when I paint in my kitchen, sometimes my pet bunny watches."
